Flip dreamed of being an actor and followed the stars in his eyes across the country to LA. Neither failing nor succeeding, he was stuck in limbo when he met Cindy. Together they wrote a screenplay called DEATHLY QUIET, a cop/action/drama about a detective who lost his hearing on the job. Next thing we know we’ve sold it to Paramount on the condition Flip not act in it. Boom! Just like that we were writers.
Sold another to Universal and then landed at Disney where we spent five years as the sequel King & Queen. We wrote 2’s to over a dozen Disney titles, including THE LION KING II, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST II, POCAHONTAS II, HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME II and LADY AND THE TRAMP II. Also got to write some cool originals based on Disney products. We wrote SPACE MOUNTAIN, and THE PIRATES OF THE CARRIBBEAN as an animated film, before it become the Johnny Depp Juggernaut.
After Disney we wrote a ton of family films, including JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, and a couple of TOBY movies, starring a baby white tiger. We sold a spec to Star Trek Deep Space Nine, and took on several jobs as script doctors and eventually ended up doing a buncha indie films. BURY ME TWICE and THE MEAN ONE are low budget horror films that have found a home and fan base.
During all this, we still managed to write over 50 published plays and musicals, Cindy published three non-fiction books and we’ve penned several novels.
And we’re just gettin’ started.
